What is a rubric?

The rubric is an evaluation instrument that serves to evaluate the performance of students when they carry out an activity or task, contemplating various aspects.

It is an assessment matrix in which the criteria and indicators of skills are established through the use of scales to determine the quality of the student’s performance. It allows obtaining a grade measured using different evaluation criteria.

What are the advantages of evaluating with rubrics?

Assessment with rubrics has distinct advantages for teachers and students. One of these advantages is that they propose and make known, from the beginning and throughout the process, the evaluation criteria of a task or activity.

Another advantage is that they show the development expectations of the different activities in relation to the different degrees of achievement. They also reduce subjectivity in assessments and make it easier for students to understand exactly which aspects of the activity they have done correctly and which they need to improve on, better understanding their weaknesses and strengths.

All of this increases the transparency of the evaluation, and gives greater feedback to the students, within the framework of a formative and continuous assessment.

Can I link skills in the rubrics?

Yes, Additio App rubrics allow you to link competencies and evaluation criteria in each of the rows, thus facilitating competency evaluation.

Can I self-assess students with rubrics?

Yes, Additio App rubrics allow students to self-assess.

The teacher can select a rubric and send it through Edvoice or email. Once the student completes the self-assessment, the grade automatically appears in the teacher’s gradebook.

Can I co-assess students with rubrics?

Yes, Additio App rubrics allow students to co-evaluate each other. The application allows you to choose the number of students that assess each student, randomly and also allows you to assign it manually.

Can I export, print and share the rubrics?

Yes, all rubrics can be exported and printed, both the original rubric and the one completed by the students. There is also the possibility of sharing rubrics between teachers.

Can I create personalized rubrics?

Yes, Additio App rubrics are fully customizable. You can choose the number of columns and rows, the type of result and the weight in each row.
